Project Information

The new 1.2 MSF Currency Production Facility (CPF) located at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC) is thoughtfully integrated into the pastoral landscape, preserving site openness and existing natural habitats, reestablishing forests and meadow grasses reducing heat island effect, maximizing stormwater retention, generating renewable energy and
establishing a decarbonization benchmark for world class manufacturing facilities.
104-acre site; 21-acre building area; 1.2 MSF; 3.9 MW photovoltaic roof will provide 80% of the administrative zone's annual energy needs; anticipated to reduce embodied carbon 25% and operational carbon by 15% over industry standards; anticipated 45% reduction in Greenhouse Gas Emissions.

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing’s architect and program design manager responsible for gathering (Program of Requirements), documentation (Construction Documentation review), and implementation (Construction Administration) of all users’ multi-disciplinary requirements. Initiated flexible project space and performance standards, level-set the organizational chart, and was the single point of contact (internal & external) for all the Bureau’s design and planning queries. Daily conduit between the US Army Corps of Engineers’ design team and BEP user groups. Routinely prepared schematic options to facilitate discussions with leadership, users and/or design team, thus reducing meeting quantities/durations. Provided technical advice and assistance Bureau-wide with respect to real property policies, programs and procedures. Initiated and managed the branding and artifact integration effort.
